Shops in Bradford-upon-Avon |
50 yards down the hill, town centre shops in The Shambles sell all basic groceries - meat, fruit and vegetables. Two miles away in Trowbridge - the county town, is avery large Tesco store.
Bradford has many character shops - antique shops and novelty shops. Visit the cheese shop and the hand painted lamp shop by the bridge. Arrangements can be made for a tour of Moxham's antiques if you are an antique buff.
A nice coffee shop/restaurant, The Fat Fowl, is to be found in the small square amongst the shops.
Eating out offers a range of fare - Pizza Hut, Amici across the road, the pub just below our proerty, the Georgian Restaurant and Thai Restaurant across the bridge are the best.
In surrounding villages try the Tollgate at Holt, the Linnet at Great Hinton, The Lamb on the Strand (near Seend), the Pear Tree at Whitley, The Angel Inn at Upper Sudamore and the Sign of the Angel at Laycock.
The latter is in the National trust village of Laycock, a must for a few hours of exploration. All must be booked.
