The Nurseries
is a late XV11 Century Listed farmhouse
situated above Curbar Village. On Curbar
Edge above the road is Cubar Gap, a renowned
beauty spot for hiking, horse-riding and
climbing.
Curbar Village
is one of the highest villages within
the Peak District. It consists of a residential
area of cottages and houses centred round
the ancient village well, drinking fountain
and plague tombstones.
Curbar
is close to Eyam, the
Plague Village, famous at the time of
the Bubonic Plague in 1665, which spread
from London to Eyam Village in a roll
of cloth. Bakewell, Hathersage
and Chatsworth are 5 miles away.
The
front wall of the cottage garden is Listed
of historic interest.
The
original cowsheds have been converted
into the main sitting room. All the rooms
contain original beams
and thick stone walls, full of character.
