Bath
is a World Heritage Site with a history
dating back to Roman times. The Romans
were attracted to a sharp bend on the
River Avon by hot sulphurous springs.
The
perceived healing powers of the waters
made Bath a Spa Centre,
which is retains to the present day. A
new Spa Centre has recently been designed.
The
original Roman Baths,
meticulously excavated, are one of the
best examples of intact Roman architecture
in Europe – not to be missed. The
springs are still bubbling away and you
can take detailed tours.
Bath
saw its share of dispute, wars, desecration
and rebuild over the Centuries. In Georgian
times, Bath became a place beloved of
the aristocracy for high social life,
intrigues and wealth that only the well
to do could provide.
It was
at this time that present day Bath was
formed around a series of Crescents with
adjoining roads, garden squares and large
parks. Beautifully designed and executed
in Georgian style, the buildings have
today lost none of their charm.

periodically by old lamps to our Apartment

sense of treading in the footsteps of
history will consume you.
Within
